Wine lovers can head to nearby GenuWine in The Woodlands for their New Year’s 2012 Party. Tickets include a champagne toast at midnight followed by a breakfast buffet for your first meal of the year! The buffet will include eggs, sausage, bacon, chocolate chip pancakes, biscuits and gravy and even black eyed peas to keep the New Year’s tradition.
If you have children with you, visit the Children’s Museum of Houston for the New Year’s Noon Bash on December 31. There will be a parade, balloon drop and hands-on activities for the kids inside the museum.
One of the biggest celebrations will take place at the Discovery Green Conservancy in downtown Houston. New Year’s Eve Live is an event for all ages including live music, a beer and champagne garden for the adults, and the ice skating rink open for skaters. This free event also includes a parade, 3-D light show, fireworks and of course the countdown to midnight. Events start at 7 p.m. and end shortly after midnight.
